Welcome to the u3a in the Isle of Man
The u3a (IOM), is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. In this electronic age it is all too easy to get cut off from society. However social interaction is at the very core of our u3a, and we achieve this through a variety of activities and interest groups.
The u3a (IOM) is part of the UK national network of u3a’s and is run entirely by volunteers drawing upon the knowledge, experience and skills of our own members to organise and provide interest groups of which we have over 25. For example:
Musical groups like ‘Ukelele’, ‘Prog Rock’ and ‘Classical Music Appreciation.’
Creative groups like 'Arts and Crafts' or 'Drawing and Painting'.
Activity-based groups like 'Walking', ‘Table Tennis’ or 'Pickleball'.
Discovery-based groups like ‘Archaeology’ or ‘Philosophy.’
Language groups like French or German or Italian ‘Conversation’.
Social groups like 'Silver Dream Bikers', ‘Quiz’ or ‘Gardening.’
Live Laugh Learn. With us you can have fun learning new things, meeting and making new friends and acquaintances, and broadening your outlook. The u3a (IOM) provides a safe friendly environment to do all this at your own pace and in doing so benefit your personal wellbeing.
