to buy drinks and or food.

This is a difficult topic as people come with varying degrees of knowledge and
understanding. However, the aim is to prompt lively discussion and through that
experience we can all learn something on the way. To that end, as we don’t have a
resident expert on this technical subject, group members take it in turns to nominate
a philosopher, put together from the internet some bullet points on that philosopher
(who they were, their life story, some of their best known philosophical writings and
ideas) , and then use that to provide a framework for the meeting.
